Refuge for Women

Refuge for Women Las Vegas

Trail runners are naturally inclined to take care of nature and the earth we've been given. We believe that same nature applies to our outlook on mankind in general and looking out for each other. With that, we're proud to partner with Refuge for Women Las Vegas as the official charitable partner of Trails of Glory.

About the Program

Human Trafficking is a dark industry that abuses and exploits women of all ages. When a woman is rescued from a trafficker, she is left with many years of past trauma and oftentimes, substance abuse issues.

Refuge for Women is a non-profit, faith based organization that provides long-term care for women who have escaped human trafficking or sexual exploitation. Refuge for Women offers safe housing with 24-hour-a-day staffing. The program is designed, and staff trained, to help residents recognize their goals in life, and to assist them in reaching those goals, and facilitate healing. A resident can complete the program in 9 months and may have the opportunity for an additional 3 months of aftercare. The program's hope is for each woman to leave Refuge for Women with self-sustainability and a life marked with dignity and hope.

How to Donate

We will be donating a portion of every registration to Refuge for Women but we highly encourage our runners to donate on their own as well. There are many options available whether it's cash or something purchased from an Amazon wish list that will benefit the center. To learn more and make a donation, visit http://www.rfwlasvegas.org and click on 'Donate'.

Race Distances

8K Course

5.2 miles, 550 ft of vertical climb

A counter-clockwise running of part of the Mustang Trail loop with a quick detour to Rubber Ducky, beginning and ending with fast downhill with a challenging (but fun!) uphill in the middle.

Half Marathon Course

13.5 miles, 1400 ft of vertical climb

A mixture of the Mustang Trail, Landmine Loop, and Black Velvet, the course takes Landmine all the way around, passing through Blue Diamond and returning along a gentle uphill on Late Night Trail before finishing with a fast downhill to the finish.

30K Course

18.25 miles, 1750 ft of vertical climb

A modification of our half marathon course, with two detours to add the increased mileage. After passing through Blue Diamond, the course continues along Landmine Loop until meeting up with Mustang Trail and heading west to Black Velvet. After running Black Velvet and Late Night, the course passes under the highway for a quick run along Badger Pass and Dinosaur Teeth before returning to the finish line.

Marathon Course

26.7 miles, 3000 ft of vertical climb

Following the 30K course until 17, at which point the course turns south on Badger Pass, up 3-Mile Smile, then around and down Satan's Escalator. After continuing down Dead Horse Loop, the course meets back up with Badger Pass and passes under the highway to the finish line.
