We're kicking off 2020 with lots of fun, lots of beer, and lots of great trails! If you're up to the challenge, take on the 50K on some of the best trails Las Vegas has to offer in Bootleg Canyon.

Race Distances

We're switching things up for 2020, with Half Marathon and longer races in the morning, and the 5K and 10K at night.

50K Course

31.3 miles, 3,341 ft of vertical climb

Marathon Course

25.8 miles, 3,306 ft of vertical climb

The marathon course begins by running the 5K course, up the mildly-technical trail Girl Scout to the Caldera Lot (and aid station), and then down East Leg, a fun, moderately-technical trail. Continue around to Upper Lake View, down Snakeback, and around Lower Lake View before the long climb up the River Mountain Hiking Trail switchbacks. Once at the top, run along Skyline, one of the most technical trails in Bootleg Canyon, until coming to the Caldera Lot once again. Continue out and run the Outer Caldera Loop, ending up at the Caldera Lot again before continuing through the Inner Caldera Loop and hitting the Caldera Lot one final time. From there, cruise down West Leg, up and over the saddle conenctor trail onto Mother, a fun winding trail that runs along the side of a steep dropoff, and down onto P.O.W to the Monument Aid Station. Continue with a slow grinder up P.O.W. and Par None before crossing over and running Upper Lake View, Snakeback, Lower Lake View, and the River Mountain Hiking Trail switchbacks again, this time returning via Boy Scout through the Caldera Lot, down West Leg, across the saddle again, to Mother and down Mother's switchbacks to the finish line.

30K Course

19.3 miles, 2400 ft of vertical climb

Begin with the Half Marathon course by heading up the mildly-technical Girl Scout trail before reaching the Caldera Lot and the first aid station. Continue out and run the Outer Caldera Loop, ending up at the Caldera Lot again before continuing through the Inner Caldera Loop and hitting the Caldera Lot one final time. From there, cruise down West Leg, up and over the saddle conenctor trail onto Mother, a fun winding trail that runs along the side of a steep dropoff, and down onto P.O.W to the Monument Aid Station. Finish it off with a slow grinder up P.O.W. and Par None before crossing over onto Upper Lake View, down Snakeback, then around Lower Lake View and up the long climb up the River Mountain Hiking Trail and switchbacks. Finish by flying down East Leg, a fun, moderately-technical trail.

Half Marathon Course

14.1 miles, 1,611 ft of vertical climb

Continue out and run the Outer Caldera Loop, ending up at the Caldera Lot again before continuing through the Inner Caldera Loop and hitting the Caldera Lot one final time. Finish it off with a slow grinder up P.O.W. and Par None before flying into the finish.

10K Course

6.7 miles, 930 ft of vertical climb

Start by running downhill along the beautiful, winding Lower Lake View trail (which lives up to its name) before heading up the River Mountain Trail and the infamous switchbacks, followed by taking Boy Scout back to the Caldera Lot Aid Station and West Leg, then up and over the saddle to Mother and back to the finish.

5K Course

3.2 miles, 525 ft of vertical climb

A steady climb uphill on the mildly-technical Girl Scout trail before reaching the Caldera Lot Aid Station and returning on the moderately technical, but very fast, East Leg trail, followed by the dirt road for approximately 1/2 mile to the finish.

There will be prizes from our sponsors (announced as the race gets closer) for the overall winners of all distances, along with custom-engraved mugs for the top 3 males and top 3 females of each distance.

All finishers will receive a bottle-opener Blood, Sweat & Beers medal created specifically for this year's race, and all registered runners will receive a Blood, Sweat & Beers tech tee, in either unisex or ladies-fit*.

*To be guaranteed a ladies-fit tech tee in your size, you must register by March 6, 2020 at 11:59pm.

All aid stations will be stocked with water in water jugs (you must carry your own water bottle), Tailwind Endurance Fuel, energy gels, and an assortment of munchies and goodies to eat.

We have a very firm belief that true trail runners are explorers at heart and minimalists in many ways, therefore, our aid stations are self-serve, meaning no cups! You must bring a hydration system of your own to fill up with water, and reusable cup of your own for Tailwind Endurance Fuel and soda.

Bag Check

A bag check will be provided at the race to check any belongings you do not wish to leave in your car during the race.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup will be available the day of the event at the start/finish as well as on Friday, March 27nd from 3pm – 6pm at a location TBD.

Refund Policy

We will provide a 100% credit towards a future Desert Dash event up to 6 weeks from the event. From 6 weeks up to 2 weeks before the event we will issue a 75% credit, and from 2 weeks up to 48 hours before the event we will issue a 50% credit.

No credit will be issued within 48 hours of or anytime after the event. There are no refunds given.
